God can find time for us.

I have been at school now for exactly a month. After the first week, things began to get pretty busy. I realized that the once Community College schedule I once had, was now gone, and was increase by about seventy-three percent. No, I did not do the exact math, however I am positive my guesstimate is fairly accurate.

I knew before I got here that it was going to be an even harder challenge to continue or even increase my relationship with God. However, I knew that I could not do without Him. Not in the new atmosphere, not in the living arrangements, or people that surrounded me. I couldn't stop talking to him or read His word with the class load I was taking and the homework I was given. Not that this is the only time I should be thinking I need Him, I need Him all the time. But I needed to depend on Him at school even more.

As a Communication Design major, you learn that sophomore year, your life is official over. The amount of work you do exceeds many majors, and people start thinking you just like school that much. Well, I do like school, however to stay at least on track, one must do school all the time and nothing else. In fact, right now at this very moment, I've probably just fallen behind 15 minutes in work...I think you get my drift. This started to make it very difficult to find time for God. I have 8 am classes, I work three days a week, and some classes go as late as 9:30 at night. There's literally no time through the day except for the homework you have to get done.

When school began and I started to sleep in my new place, I realized that I would wake up about twenty minutes to an hour earlier than my alarm was supposed to go off. For anyone who knows me well, this is absurd. Once I am asleep, I am asleep for good, and will not be woken until my alarm goes off. It's just the way I am. So when I started to notice this, I thought it was quite odd, and maybe just because my surroundings were new. With this in mind, I continued to ask God to spare me some time to spend with Him, and yet I still wasn't finding any. Until one Saturday when I was at home and I woke up an hour earlier than I had to. I sat up in bed, looked out the window at the beautiful day, and realized God had been and still was calling my name every morning. He was waking me up early enough to spend time with Him before my day got so busy that I couldn't fit Him in. It was one of those epiphanies, a moment where you realized how small you were and how big God is, and yet still felt overwhelmingly loved. After realizing this, I must admit, as a mere human being, I've struggled with not going back to sleep. But I still continue to ask God to call my name in the morning, and to give me the strength to not go back to sleep.

P.s. IT'S FALL!
